Project Title : Sheep Rearing Programme for the empowerment of Rural Poor Women
Donor : The Virginia Gildersleeve International Fund, Inc. (VGIF), United States of America.
Description :
RDWWS identified 20 very poor disadvantaged women belongs to Dalit Community who are called in India as untouchables by the so-called high caste people. Thus, their residential area is located at the outskirts of the main villages. Being agricultural labourers, they are always depending on the mercy of landlords and wealthy people. They do not have any other sources of income except their shoulder .At this situation RDWWS proposed this sheep rearing income generating project is most useful for them.
Our organisation provided 20 units of sheep (5 sheep in one unit) to 20 women beneficiaries with the grant of our generous donor agency VGIF, USA Sheep rearing means purchasing small sheep and graze them with better fodder. These sheep will grow fast and the value of the sheep will be more than double. The target women can graze most of the sheep easily. This Sheep rearing also is profitable one. Through this project 20 poor families will gain their permanent livelihood source and they will not depend on others for their livelihood.
Now this programme is going on successfully.
Thanks to our donor VGIF, USA for supporting this very needful programme.
