Project Title : Sustainable Development of Poor Tsunami Victims’ Families through Economic Support

Donor Agency : Fundacion Roviralta, Sede del Patronato, Avda. De Bruselas, 15, 4o, 28108, Alcobendas (Madrid), SPAIN.

Project Summary :

With the generous support of Fundacion Roviralta, we have successfully implemented the Sustainable Development of Poor Tsunami Victims’ Families through Economic Support project. This initiative was designed to uplift 25 impoverished fishermen families in the Tsunami-affected areas of Prakasam District, fostering economic stability and resilience in the aftermath of the disaster.

The primary objective of the project was to improve the economic conditions of the targeted families by providing them with sustainable income-generating opportunities. Through a carefully crafted programme, participants were equipped with the skills, resources, and support necessary to engage in livelihood activities suited to their context.

By focusing on income generation, we aimed to not only alleviate immediate financial hardships but also to empower families to build a more secure and prosperous future. Through various interventions such as vocational training, access to microfinance, and market linkages, we facilitated the establishment of small businesses and entrepreneurial ventures within the community.

As a result of this project, the targeted fishermen tsunami victims have experienced tangible improvements in their living standards. They have gained greater financial independence, improved access to basic necessities, and enhanced prospects for long-term sustainability.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Fundacion Roviralta for their invaluable support and partnership in realizing this impactful endeavour, which has brought hope and opportunity to those most in need.
